The difficulties experienced in requesting the assistance of the emergency services as well as the hindering of the emergency response through lack of communication of available information on the location and access point for the accident site has led to the following safety recommendation:
IÉ should review their procedures for the management of accidents to ensure that communication with the emergency services is clear and provides the necessary information to locate an accident site without undue delay and access it by the most appropriate point.
